We've listed some of the schemes here that we are often contacted about for compliance. These schemes are mainly targeted at London but we have seen an increase in contracts up and down the country that are requesting vehicle complicity with various schemes in order to work on their sites.
The main aim of all these schemes is to increase the safety of HGVs and the people around the other road users and pedestrians around them.

DVS - Direct Vision Standard is a measure of how much HGV drivers can see from their cab directly (without the use of mirrors or video cameras).[1] From October 2020, Transport for London will require all HGVs over 12 tonnes entering London to have at least a one-star rating and from 2024 they will need at least a three-star rating.
FORS - The Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) is a voluntary accreditation scheme encompassing all aspects of safety, fuel efficiency, vehicle emissions and improved operations. FORS helps fleet operators to measure and monitor performance and alter their operations in order to demonstrate best practice. It is open to operators of vans, lorries, mini-buses, coaches and other vehicles, and to the organisations that award contracts to those operators.
CLOCS - A national Standard that requires all stakeholders in construction to take responsibility for health & safety beyond the hoardings. It demands collaborative action to prevent fatal or serious collisions between vehicles servicing construction projects and vulnerable road users: pedestrians, cyclists, and motorcyclists.
Crossrail - Crossrail's contractor requirements mandate that all Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) working on the project are fitted with safety devices including blind spot proximity sensors, side under-run guards and warning alerts for cyclists.
